A visit to Storybook garden

One recent weekend I visited the Hunter Valley Gardens north of Sydney. Within the themed areas of this fantastical place lies storybook garden. After walking past a stack of giant books, including an open page od Jack and the beanstalk you can wander past large characters from well known children's stories and nursery rhymes. Each display has an open book with an excerpt next to the characters you know.

Alice at the Mad Hatter's Tea party looked like a photo favourite for most visitors. I only read Alice's adventures earlier this year and, funnily enough, my son's preschool class read it later in the week, so he finally realised where the amusing characters fitted in.
