Matilda, a boy and a crocodile

At the Post Office today, buying more Post Bag to send off books from my sale in, I saw some of Roald Dahl's books displays and added Matilda to my small pile of purchases. I have been wanting to read more of his books and, having a Matilda in the family now, this title seemed an apt choice.
Oskar is also a fan of the author, with The Enormous Crocodile being one of his favourite stories. The suspense created as he listens to the the secret plans and clever tricks the crocodile concocts in order to eat some children always leads to fits of giggles at the end, when the crocodile gets throw far away to the sun and sizzles up like a sausage. In fact, we even had a crocodile day at home recently, where we read crocodile books and constructed one.
Roald Dahl's autobiography, Boy, is also one of my favourites. While fascinating as a life itself, reading about the events, like the hardships of boarding school, that must have inspired his well-known tales adds another layer of interest to his life story.
